A Bit of Fun

Hey everyone

I know it is a long time since I’ve posted anything that I’ve made. Things have been very hectic at home with Riley starting high school and adjusting to a new routine. On top of that my job has been extremely busy and stressful. All of this has meant little time for me and when I do get that time I haven’t had the motivation to get creative.

Last Sunday I was lying around when I got a text from my neighbour & bestie Claire, asking me to come over & craft with her that afternoon. My first instinct was to say “no” but, instead, I said yes. So that afternoon I headed across the park with some of my new products that had been sitting around untouched.

Claire & I had a great time. We made some cute cards & I came home feeling less stressed. We have promised ourselves that we will do this once a fortnight. I hope we stick to it.

So here’s what we made.

Aren’t these owls too cute? We used the 2-step Owl Punch and some Designer Series Paper to make them.  Claire put the wobbly eyes on her owls & I think they are adorable.  We also used the So Many Thanks a la care stamp.

I haven’t been a big fan of owls, but these are just so sweet and very easy to put together.

The second thing we made was using the “Because I Care” Hostess stamp set and some watercolour paper & aqua pens.  Claire & I hadn’t tried watercolouring like this before, so it was a bit of an experiment.  I think we may have been a bit heavy handed with the colour but I think they came out really nicely.

There was something very calming and therpeutic about doing the watercolouring. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, I even struggle to draw stick figures! But when I do something like this it makes me feel like Michelangelo!

Can you guess who’s card is whose?

As always I’d love to hear what you think.

Pleated Dress Card – Mothers’ Day Class

Hey Everyone

Being school holidays here, as usual, I spent a great day with my wonderful friend Kathy, doing some crafting.  We managed to block out the noise of our 5 kids running wild and had a very productive day.

I made this really cute card which I found on Petronella Hardy’s website.  I think it is just gorgeous and you can so easily change the look by changing the Designer Series Paper & the accessories you use.  This is such a simple card to make just using a square of paper, a heart punch, ribbon & a brad.

This is the other project we will be making at the Mothers’ Day class on 23 April.  If you haven’t booked in yet, make sure you do before all the spaces are filled.

I also remade the 2 pocket tote that I posted the other day in the new Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.  It’s lovely paper and I really like the way the tote worked out.  I also used Rich Razzleberry which is one of the new In Colours in the Autumn-Winter Catalogue.  It’s a gorgeous colour and I’m looking forward to using it in a lot of projects.  I’ve teamed it with Old Olive and I think they go really well together.  The stamp set I’ve used, Vintage Vogue, is also from the new catalogue.

Thanks for dropping by.

Mothers Day

Today I went to visit my friend Kathy.  We try to spend a day together every school holidays to have a bit of a chat and a whinge and do a bit of cardmaking while our kids play together.  It was a wonderful day except for Noah falling off the trampoline and hurting his shoulder.  This is such a Noah thing to do and luckily the doctor thinks he’s just badly bruised it rather than anything more serious.  In between the dramas Kathy and I made a card each for Mothers’ Day.  I’ve been thinking quite hard on what sort of card to make my Mum for Mothers’ Day.  As her birthday is the week before I like to try and come up with 2 completely different looking cards otherwise my Mum will accuse me of being in a rut!!  The card above is what I came up with.  I hope you like it.  All products used are Stampin’ Up!, of course.
