Retro Birthday

Hey everyone

Yesterday was my youngest son’s birthday (my baby). He turned 13. It’s like a slap in the face, 13, because once they’re teenagers they’re not your baby anymore. Unfortunately, Noah has been sick all week and so we didn’t do an awful lot. He got Lego for his birthday so he was quite happy to sit and put it all together.

Here’s the card I made for him, and it turned out really well. I got the idea for it from Pinterest, my source for all crafty things.

Noah 13th

I love the colours in this card. They’re not particularly boy colours but Noah loved them. I used the retired Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper as inspiration and added 3 strips of varying lengths and widths on one side of the card. The tails of the stars were made using the Work of Art stamp set. I know I’ve said it before, but this set is so versatile and I’m so glad I decided to buy it.

The colours are Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and So Saffron and they look just great together.

The greeting is from the Hip Notes set and fit just perfectly at the bottom of the card.

This card came together so easily and the most important thing is that Noah loved it.

Awesome Thanks

Hi everyone

I’m happy to say that my crafting mojo has continued to hang around. I made this card the other day using another one of the new colours, Hello Honey.

awesome

I’ve teamed the Hello Honey with Lost Lagoon and I think they work really well together.

I also got out my Big Shot and embossed the Hello Honey with the Decorative Dots embossing folder and also used the Banner framelits to cut out the greeting and the Lost Lagoon matting.

The stamp sets I used are Yippee Skippee for the greeting and the photopolymer set called Show and Tell.

It’s the first time I’ve used the photopolymer stamps and I really liked them. I like that they’re completely clear and you can see the ink on the stamp and exactly where you’re stamping.

Again I’ve used up some retired products. The cute paper clip is from the  Hung Up Cute Clips.

I hope you like the card.

More Work of Art

Hi everyone

I’ve been on a bit of a creative binge over the last few days playing with all my new goodies.

mossy love you

I’m totally in love with the new stamp set, Work of Art. It’s perfect for making quick and easy cards. You really can’t go wrong with it.

For this card I tried another new in colour, Mossy Meadow, it’s the darkest green on the card. I’m still not sure I like it but I’m willing to keep trying.

This is a great card for guys I think.

Birthday Dahlia

Hi everyone

I wanted to show you the card I made for my sister-in-law’s birthday which was today.

Birthday Dahlias

I got the layout for the card and the colour combination from Pinterest.

I have to tell you that Pinterest is one of the greatest sources of inspiration for me. I love that people go on there and share their cards and other creations.

The stamp set I used for this card is Regarding Dahlias. I had this on my wish list for a long time. I really wish I’d bought it sooner. It’s a gorgeous stamp  and I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of it.

The colours I used are Baked Brown Sugar, Blushing Bride and Soft Sky. I love the way they work together.

I hope you like the card.

Happy Stamping.

Gift Bag

Hey everyone

It’s my sister-in-law’s birthday tomorrow. I bought her something lovely but instead of wrapping it up in boring paper I decided to make a gift bag.

Gift BagI am a terrible hoarder of Designer Series Paper. I love it so much and it’s always so beautiful that I just can’t bring myself to use it. I know, I’m crazy. For this project I decided to use up some of the paper I had lying around my craft cupboard.

This particular paper is called Twitterpated and it was from back in 2012 (told you I was a shocking hoarder).  I think it looks great.

I got the instructions for this bag from Pootles Papercrafts. If you haven’t visited Pootles before you should definitely go and have a look. She has so many great things on her blog.

I made the flower using the Spiral Flower Die and my Big Shot. Once I’d made the flower I spritzed it with some water and scrunched it up a bit. This helps to break down the fibres in the paper and gives it a bit more of a vintage look. I added a tag and it was all finished.

I hope you like it.

Happy Stamping.

Work of Art

Hi everyone

I decided to have a go at a colour challenge this week.

PPA 210

pendant park

This made me finally get out some of my goodies from the new Catalogue and have a play with them. I absolutely love them.

These colours just spoke to me and finally got my creative juices flowing I added Soft Sky to these colours and I loved the way they all work together.

I used the brand new stamp set Work of Art and the tree and greeting is from a stamp set called Pendant Park which is now retired.

Have you had a look at the new catalogue yet? I’ve spent some lovely hours looking through mine and it’s covered with coloured Post-It Notes flagging all the lovely things I want to buy.
